9 daring Trisoft team members have entered the Nottingham Riverside Festival charity Dragon Boat Challenge in the hopes of raising money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People!
Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and up to 10 people will paddle each 30’ boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course.
On the Trisoft team we have:
Rance Van Liere
If you want to join in with the team spirit, come down and cheer on the Trisoft boat! Riverside Festival is a great family event with music, dance, food, crafts and games, so bring the family along and have fun!
Our Dragon Boat crew is comprised of IT Specialists, Engineers, and the Marketing Assistant from Trisoft. Outside of work our team has diverse skills and backgrounds, including a boxer (the first to win a Derbyshire Challenge Belt at two different weights), an ex-army Missile System Operator, an ex-US Navy Submariner, a horse rider, a Pokemon Go expert, a wine strawpedoer (he’s happy to demonstrate), a Real Ale expert (who used to run a brewery), a compulsive anecdotist, and a fixer of all things.
The team’s race strategy is:
- Row. Row. Row some more.
Listen out for our team name: Trisot-y McTrisoftface!
About Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People:
“Sadly, some children simply don’t live long enough. Since 1994 we’ve opened our doors and hearts to those children and the people who love them most. And now more than ever, we need your help to keep on bringing care and happiness to our children and families.
As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. Our incredible team of people helps relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end.”
Stay tuned for an update after the event with photos of the team!
