The Need


Gorilla Events case studyGorilla Events is a national hospitality company that builds extraordinary and unforgettable events for businesses and the private sector. Born from a love of memorable experiences Founder and Managing Director Dan Baxter launched the company in 2005 and since then Gorilla have continued to grow and add new and innovative services to their portfolio. They are now well-known for their experiential outdoor events with more than 1,000 trusted hospitality professionals delivering premium bar services at high profile and show-stopping events across the UK.


Now celebrating their 10th anniversary, Gorilla Events have very different challenges to face since their inception. As a business in the world of mobile events they have to cope with both high demand during peak months and a dip during the quiet periods. Their revenue and demands fluctuate drastically throughout the year, resulting in a constant balancing act of budget and performance. Despite this challenge, Gorilla Events have been able to grow their team, expertise and portfolio.


As the business has continued to grow its client base there was a need to expand from Nottinghamshire, so Dan Baxter moved down to London to open a new sales office. As operations were still based in the Nottingham office for the first time Sales and Operations were geographically split. Operations Director Michael Chilton describes how, “we have had to adapt to overcome new constraints and challenges.” This meant that a more clear and thorough structure to the sales and handover process needed to be defined, every box had to be ticked, every request noted in detail.


Gorilla Events was in need of a new IT company to support internal growth, strengthen digital communications and to ensure security in their systems as staff numbers grow and they acquire bigger and more prestigious clients. They were also looking for a company situated close to their operations office so that they could build a strong face-to-face relationship and Trisoft was recommended to Gorilla’s Operations Director Michael Chilton by another Trisoft customer, local digital design company BCS Agency.


The Solution

Trisoft now provides IT support for Gorilla Events, giving them confidence in their IT infrastructure and security, and also providing them with wireless internet, giving them support and room to grow.

Trisoft also migrated Gorilla Events to Office 365, to get the most out of the collaborative platform. As a company split between Nottingham and London, Office 365 offers the opportunity for all members of staff to work on documents together at the same time, and provides 1TB of storage.
